How Coda supports clinical decisions.

The Coda website currently shows a synthetic product demonstration. The people, records, recommendations, and clinical actions in that demonstration are illustrative and do not represent real patients or live clinical care.

A live pilot or deployment will be governed by its own written agreement, intended-use labeling, configured data sources, clinical workflow, validation evidence, and technical controls. Those deployment-specific materials control if they differ from this general description.

Coda is designed to support licensed healthcare professionals making non-emergency, non-time-critical decisions. It organizes authorized patient information and presents assessments, options, or recommendations for the professional's independent review.

Coda does not replace professional judgment or independently diagnose, prescribe, order, communicate, or carry out care. The licensed healthcare professional makes every final clinical decision and approves any resulting action.

Coda is designed to work from authorized patient records, reports, and discrete medical information, together with relevant medical knowledge. An output should preserve the identity, source, timing, and availability of the patient information used and make material missing or conflicting information visible.

The current product description does not include analysis of raw medical images, waveforms, continuous physiological signal streams, or raw diagnostic signals. Any future function that uses those inputs would require separate product and regulatory review before use.

Coda may use AI models to organize authorized information, identify relevant changes, and prepare an assessment or recommendation. The reviewing professional should be able to inspect the patient-specific facts used, their sources and timing, the reasoning or rationale presented, material knowns and unknowns, and relevant limitations before deciding whether to accept, modify, or reject an output.

An output is not an instruction to act. Coda is not intended to provide an alarm, a time-critical directive, or a decision that a healthcare professional cannot independently review in the ordinary course of care.

The public demonstration is product evidence, not evidence of clinical effectiveness. It does not establish performance in live care, across a patient population, or for a particular disease or decision.

Before a live clinical use, Coda Health and the participating healthcare organization must define the intended users and patient population, permitted decisions and actions, information inputs, evaluation plan, known limitations, escalation paths, and monitoring appropriate to that use.

Coda is designed to present information for professional review while leaving clinical authority with the licensed healthcare professional. It does not automatically send a patient message, place an order, change a medication, or take another clinical action without the approval required by the configured workflow and deployment agreement.

Where Coda offers a recommendation, it should state the basis for that recommendation and preserve uncertainty. A physician may accept it, change it, request more information, or reject it.

Duet is Coda Health's separate patient-facing iPhone app. Duet helps people organize health information they choose to connect, report supported observations, and prepare information for a conversation with a healthcare professional.
